TCCA – Trichloroisocyanuric Acid
TCCA (Trichloroisocyanuric Acid) is a stabilized chlorine-based disinfectant and oxidizing chemical widely used for water disinfection, sanitation and microbial control. It is commonly supplied as white tablets, granules or powder and releases available chlorine when dissolved in water.
Main Benefits of TCCA is having High Chlorine Content: Delivers approximately 90% available chlorine in granular or tablet forms. And Stability: Features a long shelf life and stable storage properties compared to liquid chlorine or bleaching powder. Due to high chlorine content and higher stability will result TCCA Cost-Effective: Releases hypochlorous acid steadily while cyanuric acid acts as a built-in stabilizer against sunlight breakdown.- Swimming Pools: Acts as a long-lasting sanitizer and algicide to kill bacteria, viruses, and algae.
- Water Treatment: Used for disinfecting industrial cooling water and municipal supplies.
- Textile Bleaching: Functions as an effective bleaching agent for fabrics.
- Sanitation: Applied in animal husbandry, fisheries, and public places for comprehensive disinfection.
Important Handling Note
TCCA is a strong oxidizing chlorine chemical. Keep it dry and away from acids, ammonia, organic materials, reducing agents and combustible materials. Never mix TCCA directly with acids or other incompatible chemicals, as hazardous chlorine-containing gases or reactions can occur.
For water treatment, the required dosage depends on water quality, chlorine demand, system volume, contact time and the required residual chlorine level. Use the current product SDS/TDS and an appropriate water-treatment procedure.

Applications of TCCA
Swimming Pool Water Treatment
TCCA is widely used as a chlorine source for swimming-pool sanitation. It helps maintain effective chlorine levels and control microorganisms and algae when used according to an appropriate water-treatment program.
Industrial Water Disinfection
TCCA can be used in selected industrial water-treatment applications where a stabilized solid chlorine disinfectant is required.
Cooling Tower Water Treatment
It can be used as part of a controlled cooling-tower water-treatment program for microbial and algae control. Dosage should be determined based on water chemistry, chlorine demand and required residual chlorine.
Wastewater & Sanitation
TCCA may be used for disinfection of suitable wastewater and sanitation systems where chlorination is appropriate.
Aquaculture
In appropriately controlled applications, TCCA can be used for microbial control and disinfection of suitable aquaculture-related water systems. Application must be based on the specific species, water chemistry and applicable regulations.
