Where to use Safe Passivator Liquid 630?
Safe Passivator Liquid 630 is recommended for:
Passivation after pickling: Applied to freshly pickled stainless-steel surfaces to promote restoration of the protective passive layer.
Passivation after mechanical treatment: Suitable after grinding, brushing, polishing, blasting and fabrication operations that may disturb the stainless-steel passive surface.
Free iron / smut removal: Helps remove traces of free iron and surface residues that may otherwise cause rust spots or discoloration.
Flash rust prevention: Particularly useful immediately after pickling where flash rust or brown staining may occur during drying.
Post-pickling treatment: Can be used as a final conditioning treatment before equipment is returned to service.
How to make safety as a priority while using Passivation Liquids - Use RXSOL Safe Passivator Liquid 630!
| Step | Procedure |
|---|---|
| 1. Surface Preparation | Ensure the stainless-steel surface is free from heavy grease, oil and loose contamination. Where required, pre-clean with a suitable alkaline or neutral degreaser. |
| 2. After Pickling | Thoroughly rinse away the pickling chemical with clean water before applying Safe Passivator Liquid 630. |
| 3. Application | Apply uniformly by low-pressure spray, brush, immersion or circulation depending upon the equipment and surface geometry. |
| 4. Contact Time | Allow approximately 10-15 minutes contact time under normal conditions. Do not allow the product to dry completely on the surface. |
| 5. Final Rinsing | Rinse thoroughly with clean fresh water. High-pressure rinsing may be used where appropriate. |
| 6. Drying | Allow the treated stainless-steel surface to drain and dry naturally or use clean, oil-free compressed air where required. |
Treatment of Flash Rust / Smut
Where smut or light flash rust appears immediately after pickling, apply Safe Passivator Liquid 630 while the stainless-steel surface is still wet.
Allow approximately 10-15 minutes reaction time and then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
For heavier contamination, pre-clean the affected surface, rinse with water and then apply Safe Passivator Liquid 630 to the clean, wet surface.
Reduction of Nitric Fumes During Pickling
Where nitric-acid-containing pickling products are being used, Safe Passivator Liquid 630 may be applied as a fine mist over the wet treated surface as part of the post-pickling procedure to help suppress residual fuming.
This application should not be considered a substitute for proper ventilation, extraction or required PPE.
